Their Mission
The Alliance For Aging Research mission is to promote greater access to any scientific information related to the aging process. They believe that empowering people with that information will lead to longer, more active lives for those joining the ever growing population of seniors. The Alliance for Aging Research encourages people to take an active role in their health care, and attempts to keep people up to date on the latest medical advances. The Alliance for Aging Research number one goal is to educate Americans with the information they need to understand the current aging policies and health issues; and to take charge of their later years. They offer pamphlets and seminars geared to teach others about the current medical issues, and many other issues that affect seniors. Their Dream The Alliance for Aging Research strives to enhance the lives of seniors through the advancement of scientific procedures and medications that will reverse the effects of aging. Federal funding for aging research has tripled since the inception of the Alliance, and the private research sector has grown to mammoth proportions. New advances are being made daily in the area of aging research that impact the lives of all seniors. In addition to promoting the education of seniors in their own health issues, the Alliance for Aging Research also lobbies constantly for new legislation that will allow the further advance of medical technologies. They advocate increased funding for public health facilities across America, and they fight for funding to be given to researchers to find cures for diseases that affect seniors everywhere, such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and heart disease. For over twenty years, the Alliance for Aging Research has been enhancing the lives of seniors through education, research, and their ever increasing presence in the legislature to fight for more federal funding. The lives of aging Americans for generations to come will be greatly enriched because of the efforts of the Alliance for Aging Research. |
